I’ve been running for just over three years now and I love it! I hope to do it for the rest of my life. I appreciate a good dad joke and am a closet math nerd.

So it’s been a long time. I’m not very good at this but now that I’m graduated I’ll hopefully be better, haha. Anyways, track did not end how I wanted. I pulled my hamstring pretty bad during my mile and fell with 600 meters to go. I ended up developing a knot the size of my fist. It wasn’t good. I stretched and heated and iced it, doing everything I could to get better for day two. It ended up feeling better, but three laps into my warm up for my two mile, it came back and hurt. I dropped out because there was no way I could last 8 laps at a fast pace. I did run my 800 though. I didn’t hit a PR and my hamstring hurt a lot, but I was determined to finish at least one race before my high school career ended.

I took two weeks off to heal. When I started running again last Saturday, I fell. Again. I ended up banging my knee and spraining my foot, so I took off a few more days. I did run Wednesday and Thursday with no problem. I did the elliptical today, but plan on running tomorrow. I definitely need to get back in the groove again. It shouldn’t be too bad now that I can train for me instead of training to prepare for a racing season. It’ll be nice to just enjoy the process.

good to see you posting Rye bread

i think you’ll find like Kenny and I did that running can be a lot more fun when it’s on your own terms. it’s a lot easier and more fun when you determine when and what you want to race. coaching yourself is super fun too if you want to spend the time learning about the science of the sport.
