But I’ve been doing a solid 3-5 miles everyday. There’s all kinds of pollen and other stuff in the air right now so it’s been a bit hard to breathe. I plan on being back to full mileage soon. I think finding a race to train for too will be nice, it finally hit me that I’m really not going to run with the XC team again. I’ll miss running with Rachel and the boys team, they were a party.

I’ve started lifting with my little brother. He wants to put on muscle so he can be fast for swim season and for next track season. He thinks he’s a sprinter (but really he needs to run the 800/1600).
Tue, 11 Jun 2019 06:00:00 Sun, Jun 02, 2019 http://ryliedutson.fastrunningblog.com/blog-06-02-2019.html
Three miles at a good pace. Idk exactly what it was but I just kinda went with it. I felt really good and could have gone farther, but I’m trying to take it easy for right now. By next week I’ll start going harder again. Right now the goal is just to have fun and enjoy the process.
Sun, 02 Jun 2019 06:00:00 Sat, Jun 01, 2019 http://ryliedutson.fastrunningblog.com/blog-06-01-2019.html
Really short and easy today. I’m surviving off of 4.5-5ish hours of sleep. I had to get up early to train for my part time job, jerky delivering. Sounds weird and unexciting, but it’s easy and I get paid well.

Sat, 01 Jun 2019 06:00:00 Fri, May 31, 2019 http://ryliedutson.fastrunningblog.com/blog-05-31-2019.html
So it’s been a long time. I’m not very good at this but now that I’m graduated I’ll hopefully be better, haha. Anyways, track did not end how I wanted. I pulled my hamstring pretty bad during my mile and fell with 600 meters to go. I ended up developing a knot the size of my fist. It wasn’t good. I stretched and heated and iced it, doing everything I could to get better for day two. It ended up feeling better, but three laps into my warm up for my two mile, it came back and hurt. I dropped out because there was no way I could last 8 laps at a fast pace. I did run my 800 though. I didn’t hit a PR and my hamstring hurt a lot, but I was determined to finish at least one race before my high school career ended.

I took two weeks off to heal. When I started running again last Saturday, I fell. Again. I ended up banging my knee and spraining my foot, so I took off a few more days. I did run Wednesday and Thursday with no problem. I did the elliptical today, but plan on running tomorrow. I definitely need to get back in the groove again. It shouldn’t be too bad now that I can train for me instead of training to prepare for a racing season. It’ll be nice to just enjoy the process.
Fri, 31 May 2019 06:00:00
