Today was an extremely easy recovery day. I felt fine but I didn't want to over work my body. The coaches gave varsity new uniforms for Saturday. Now we all match which is nice because race officials won't keep bugging us. I'm really looking forward to BYU.

Today was an easy shakeout run. The bus took us out to Provo today since the meet starts so early and we live a few hours away. We did a half mile warm up, one set of 90 60 30's, and a half mile cool down. After, Jacia McKenna Kyrie and I met up with Aaron and some of his teammates for dinner. I haven't seen Aaron for a while so it was nice to catch up.

So BYU was today. My time was not as fast as I wanted but I'm not at all upset. I took a minute and 28 seconds off from my time last year and I was first for Uintah. I tried a new racing strategy and I really liked it. I need to work on my speed endurance a little but this strategy is perfect for me. S/O to Kedric for making top 30 and Kenny for killing it today! Our team is getting stronger. Even though the times were not as fast we were still consistent. I'm excited to see how we do at region.

Today was a seventy minute run with Reagen. We did the pond pure but changed the end so we ended at the park. It was a nice run. We did it early in the morning so it was cool. Luckily there were no evil horses or deer this time. However I started freaking out because I thought I saw a bear but it was really just a statue. I was super scared and I started hyperventilating and Reagen was like chill out dude it's a statue. I was still traumatized.

Today was a nice core, easy run today. Coaches did visualizations after but I fell asleep. You can't blame me though because I was told to lay down in a dark room and relax. It was a nice nap.

So today was our home meet. Our course was personally created by the devil himself for his own entertainment. The hills and the heat killed but I think I did pretty well. I was in second for a while. A Payson girl and I switched around but she ultimately beat me. A carbon girl won but Uintah won overall on both sides. Kedric and I were both interviewed by the newspaper guy. So both of us just got a little more famous. My road to world domination has begun. 😏

Easy recovery and core day. My hips are killing me right now and my lungs are still a little tight. I hope that goes away before Saturday.

So today was an easy speed day. It was two sets of 90, 60, 30's so nothing super intense. I forgot to turn my watch on so I am just guessing on mileage but warm up was a little longer than normal and I had close to a half mile cool down so I think I'm pretty accurate. I'm super pumped for Wasatch tomorrow. I think it'll be a good race.

I hated this course. It was just one hill after another. Satan must have gotten bored with Uintah's course and found a new way to torture high school runners. I was a bit bummed about the slow time but it's inspired me to work harder. I have to if I want to make it to state. I'm excited for a full week of training. Our next meet isn't until Friday so we are going to get some nice speed work in which I need.

Today was a four mile tempo day. Henderson switched out our long runs for tempos. I'm happy with that. I really need the speed training. The run felt good overall. I was a little sore at first but it went away quickly. I averaged about a 7:25 pace. That was pretty good but I think I need to push the pace a little more.

Easy recovery day today. My hips were sore but they have been since the Wasatch invite. Hills tend to do that to me. The tempo yesterday had some hills too so that didn't help. Rachel, Reagen, McKenna, and I did an easy three mile run. It started raining, which wouldn't have been bad except it was like needle drops and it sort of hurt. We did some core after.

Today was the day almost everyone dreads: Yellow Hill repeat day. They weren't too bad today though. We did five ladders with equal rest. Reagen and I pushed hard but didn't kill ourselves. The Wasatch rendezvous is on Friday and we didn't want to be too sore. I was super tired today. I've been doing the morning driving sessions with the instructor so I haven't been getting all my sleep. I can't do it in the afternoon and I don't want to wait so I'm just gonna push through the sleep deprivation.

Another easy core/recovery day. My hips were very sore. I really need to stretch them out.

So today was the rendezvous. Kedric and I both ran first runner so we had a long time to wait. It was nice to get a decent lunch. I wasn't starving for half the day like some meets. Rachel and Kenzie, two of our freshman varsity runners, killed it! They both placed in the top five so they got medals. They ran about what I did last year. That really excited me because that means they could be as fast as I am currently when they are sophomores. My race went ok. Since I was in the fastest girls race, I ran in no mans land for most of it. Fifth place was about 1:10 ahead of me and I was about thirty seconds ahead of seventh. It sucked. Pacing alone was really hard. I didn't realize how much I needed my teammates during a race. After I finished, I found out Reagen Jacia and I were all with in three seconds of each other. That's good because when we race together, we can really ouch one another.

I was only supposed to do three miles today but Reagen and I got distracted and ends up running farther then we meant. We took it at recovery pace though so it wasn't fast. I needed it though.
